Layout of Digipak
Final Result
This is the original image that I used, this was taken from my music video so that the audience could see a clear link between the two products. I found this to be the most suitable image to use as it is a long shot, so we are able to view the crowd, as well as individuals, the inside of the venue and the stage glowing with lights. I used the fact that you cannot see the stage or performers to an advantage, as the artist on stage is not the same artist as the one I have created this digipak for; Shy Fx. I thought the lights would be able to form a suitable background to place the text, that advertises the artist, as it would make it appear to be the text that is glowing.I used Photoshop to crop the image to form an appropriate shape for the digipak, capturing the stage as the main focus. I also adjusted the hue, saturation, contrast and vibrance to achieve the desired affect.
I chose this bold font with a rough, messy, paint- splattered effect because it looks like the light is shining through which I think looks interesting. I added a outer glow, to make it look like the lighting is sourced from the text as well as the stage, and a colour overlay to match the dark blue, purple colour scheme. I also added a bevel and emboss effect to make the edge of the writing to glow slightly so that it looks authentic as though the text is there and is being affected by the lighting, similar to the Flume album cover that I previously analysed below.
